Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 2000 a 2025. Between March 17 to April 15, 2026, below-average rainfall resulted in a precipitation deficit along the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian and Peruvian territories, as well as in the watersheds of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Beni, Coari, Curuá Una, Içá, Iriri, Japurá, Javari, Juruá, Juruena, and Jutaí rivers, Madeira, Mamoré, and Marañon rivers; the left-bank basins of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas and in the northeast and northwest of the state of Pará; the Napo, Negro, Purus, Tapajós, Tefé, Teles Pires, and Xingu rivers; and the main course of the Solimões River; above-normal rainfall recorded over the Rio Branco river basin; near- normal rainfall recorded over the Guaporé, Ji-Paraná, and Ucayali river basins. The multimodel indicates, for the period from March 4, 2026, to March 10, 2026, a orecast of above-normal rainfall over almost the entire monitored area, concentrated mainly in the southern portion of the region; no forecast of below-normal rainfall over the monitored region.
