Current conditions

Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 2000 a 2024. Between December 3 and January 1, 2025, rainfall remained below the climatology for a large part of the monitored area, with rainfall deficits in the Beni, Branco, Içá, Japurá, Javari, Ji-Paraná, Juruá, Mamoré, Marañon, Napo, Teles Pires and Ucayali river basins, and rainfall above the climatology in the Abacaxis, Coari, Curuá, Iriri and Tefé river basins. In the coming weeks, the multi-model forecast indicates a predominance of rainfall above the climatology for the Negro and Branco river basins and the headwaters of the Solimões River, and a rainfall deficit in the south for the headwaters of the Madeira River and in the northeast of the region for the basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast and northwest of the state of Pará.
