Current conditions

Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 2000 a 2024. Between December 3 and January 1, 2025, the rainfall pattern remains below climatological levels in a large part of the monitored area, with rainfall deficits on the main course of the Amazon River in the Brazilian territory, the basins of the Branco, Içá, Japurá, Javari, Juruá, Jutaí and Mamoré rivers, basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northwest of the state of Pará, Napo, Purus, Ucayali and the main course of the Solimões River, rainfall above climatology characterized the basins of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Coari, Curuá Una, Iriri, Ji-Paraná, Juruena, Madeira, Tapajós, Tefé and Xingu rivers. The multi-model forecast indicates a rainfall deficit over almost all the river basins in the monitored area in the coming weeks, with rainfall above the climatology forecast in the first week for the Curuá Una, Guaporé, Iriri, Juruena, Tapajós, Teles Pires and Xingu river basins.
