A multi-model sub-seasonal forecast CPTEC/INPE-FUNCEME produced on 05/13/2025 for the next 7 and 14 days.
The calibrated sub-seasonal multi-model forecast CPTEC/INPE-FUNCEME is generated through scientific cooperation between CPTEC/INPE and FUNCEME, and comes from a set of 4 global models (a Brazilian model, BAM-1.2/CPTEC, and three US models, CFSv2/NCEP, GEFSv12/NCEP and ESRL/NOAA, the latter three from the SubX project). The forecast precipitation anomalies are determined in relation to the climatological period from 1999 to 2016. The outputs for the 7 and 14-day forecast intervals are shown below, detailing the forecast behavior of the basins of interest.

The figure above shows the forecast for the 7-day interval between 05/14/2025 e 05/20/2025, rainfall deficit forecast (orange) for the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Beni, Curuá Una, Guaporé, Iriri, Ji-Paraná, Juruena, Madeira, Mamoré, Tapajós, Teles Pires, Ucayali and Xingu river basins. Forecast of positive rainfall anomalies (blue) over the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian and Peruvian territory and the river basins of the Branco, Coari, Içá, Japurá, Javari, Jutaí, Napo, Negro, Tefé and the main course of the Solimões River. Rainfall forecast close to climatology (white) over the Juruá, Marañon, left bank basins of the Amazon River in the north-east of Amazonas State and north-west of Pará State and Purus.

The figure above shows the prognosis for the 14-day interval between 05/14/2025 e 05/27/2025, precipitation deficit forecast (orange) over the hydrographic basins of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Beni, Curuá Una, Guaporé, Iriri, Ji-Paraná, Juruena, Mamoré, basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas and in the northwest of the state of Pará, Tapajós, Teles Pires, Ucayali and Xingu. Forecast of positive rainfall anomalies (blue) over the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory and the watersheds of the Branco, Coari, Içá, Japurá, Jutaí, Napo, Negro, Tefé and main course of the Solimões rivers. Rainfall forecast close to climatology (white) over the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory and the catchment areas of the Juruá, Madeira, Marañon, left bank basins of the Amazon River in the north-east of the state of Pará and the Purus.
