Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 2000 a 2024. Between July 29 to August 27, 2025, below-average rainfall concentrated in the southeast of the monitored area resulted in a precipitation deficit over the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory, the watersheds of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Branco, Guaporé, Japurá, Javari, Ji-Paraná, Juruá, Juruena, basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas, Negro, Purus, Teles Pires, and Ucayali; above-average rainfall is forecast for the Coari, Curuá Una, basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northwest of the state of Pará, Tapajós, Tefé, and the main course of the Solimões River; rainfall close to normal on the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory, the Beni, Içá, Iriri, Jutaí, Madeira, Mamoré, and Marañon river basins, the basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Pará, and the Napo and Xingu rivers. The multimodel indicates below-normal rainfall for the coming weeks on the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory and the Curuá Una, Iriri, Ji-Paraná, Juruena, Madeira, Marañon, basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast and northwest of the state of Pará, Napo, Teles Pires, Ucayali, and Xingu; rainfall above climatology in the Japurá River basin in the second week; rainfall close to climatology in the other river basins in the monitored region.
