Current conditions

Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 2000 a 2024. Between September 9 to October 8, 2025, rainfall below climatological norms prevailed over the northwest of the monitored region, characterized by a precipitation deficit over the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory, the hydrographic basins of the Aripuanã, Branco, Curuá Una, Guaporé, Içá, Iriri, Japurá, Javari, Ji-Paraná, Juruá, Juruena, Jutaí, Marañon, the left bank basins of the Amazon River in the northeast and northwest of the state of Pará, Negro, Tefé, Ucayali, Xingu, and the main course of the Solimões River; rainfall above climatological norms is forecast for the Abacaxis River basin; rainfall close to normal on the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory, the Beni, Coari, Madeira, and Mamoré river basins, the left bank basins of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas, Napo, Purus, and Tapajós. The multimodel indicates the following forecast for the coming weeks rainfall below climatology on the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory, the basins of the Branco, Içá, Jutaí, Marañon, Napo, Negro, and Tefé rivers, and the main course of the Solimões River; rainfall above climatology in the Aripuanã, Beni, Gauporé, Ji-Paraná, Juruena, and Mamoré river basins.
