Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 2000 a 2025. Between April 21 to May 20, 2026, below-average rainfall resulted in a precipitation deficit along the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory, as well as in the watersheds of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Branco, Coari, Içá, Iriri, Japurá, Ji-Paraná, Juruena, Jutaí, Napo, Negro, Purus, Tapajós, Tefé, Teles Pires, Xingu, and the main course of the Solimões River; above-normal rainfall was recorded in the river basins of the Beni, Curuá Una, Guaporé, Mamoré, and Marañon rivers, as well as in the left- bank basins of the Amazon River in the northwest of the state of Pará and in the Ucayali basin; rainfall close to normal recorded along the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory, the Javari, Juruá, and Madeira river basins, and the left- bank basins of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas and the northeast of the state of Pará. The multimodel indicates, for the period from May 20 to May 26, 2026, forecast of below-average rainfall along the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian and Peruvian territories, and in the basins of the Beni, Curuá Una, Iriri, Javari, Ji-Paraná, Juruá, Juruena, and Jutaí rivers, Madeira, Mamoré, and Marañon river basins; the left bank of the Amazon River in northeastern Amazonas State, northeastern and northwestern Pará State; and the Napo, Purus, Tapajós, Teles Pires, Ucayali, and Xingu river basins; forecast of above-normal rainfall over the Branco, Japurá, and Negro river basins and the main course of the Solimões River.
