Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 1998 a 2025. Between May 5 to June 3, 2026, below-average rainfall resulted in a precipitation deficit along the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory, as well as in the watersheds of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Beni, Coari, Guaporé, Içá, Iriri, Japurá, Javari, Ji-Paraná, Juruá, Juruena, Jutaí, Madeira, Mamoré, Napo, Purus, Tapajós, Tefé, Teles Pires, and Xingu; above-normal rainfall recorded along the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory, the watersheds of the Branco, Curuá Una, and Marañon rivers, and the left-bank watersheds of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas and the northwest of the state of Pará; Rainfall close to normal levels recorded in the Marañon River basin, the left-bank basins of the Amazon River in northeastern Pará State, the Negro and Ucayali rivers, and the main course of the Solimões River. The multi-model indicates, for the period from June 3 to June 9, 2026, a forecast of above-normal rainfall along the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory, the basins of the Abacaxis, Branco, Coari, Curuá Una, Içá, Iriri, Japurá, Javari, Juruá, Jutaí, Madeira, the left-bank basins of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas and the northwest of the state of Pará, Negro, Purus, Tapajós, Teles Pires, and Ucayali; no rainfall is forecast to be below climatological norms over the monitored region.
