Legends

Current conditions

Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 1998 a 2025. Between July 28 to August 26, 2026, rainfall below climatological norms resulted in a precipitation deficit along the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian and Peruvian territory, in the watersheds of the Abacaxis, Branco, Coari, Curuá Una, Içá, and Japurá rivers, in the watersheds on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas, and in the northeast and northwest of the state of Pará, the Napo, Negro, Tapajós, and Xingu river basins and the main course of the Solimões River; rainfall above normal was recorded in the Aripuanã, Beni, Guaporé, Ji-Paraná, Juruena, Mamoré, Purus, Teles Pires, and Ucayali river basins; rainfall close to normal levels recorded in the watersheds of the Iriri, Javari, Juruá, Jutaí, Madeira, Marañon, and Tefé rivers. The multi-model indicates, for the period from August 26 to September 1, 2026, forecast of predominantly negative precipitation anomalies across the monitored region; forecast of positive precipitation anomalies only in the Tefé River watershed; forecast of rainfall close to climatological norms for the watersheds of the Coari, Guaporé, Juruena, and Mamoré rivers and the main stem of the Solimões River.
