Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 1998 a 2025. Between August 25 to September 23, 2026, rainfall below climatological norms resulted in a precipitation deficit along the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian and Peruvian territory, as well as in the watersheds of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Beni, Branco, Curuá Una, Içá, Iriri, and Japurá rivers, Ji-Paraná, and Juruá rivers; the left-bank basins of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas and the northeast and northwest of the state of Pará; the river basins of the Napo, Negro, Purus, Tapajós, Tefé, and Xingu rivers; and the main course of the Solimões River; above-normal rainfall recorded in the watersheds of the Coari, Guaporé, and Mamoré rivers; near-normal rainfall recorded in the watersheds of the Javari, Juruena, Madeira, Marañon, Teles Pires, and Ucayali rivers. The multi-model indicates, for the period from September 23 to September 29, 2026, a forecast of predominantly negative precipitation anomalies over the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory, the watersheds of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Beni, Branco, Curuá Una, Guaporé, Iriri, Ji-Paraná, and Juruá rivers, Juruena, Madeira, and Mamoré rivers; the left-bank basins of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas and the northeast of the state of Pará; the Tapajós, Teles Pires, Xingu, and Ucayali river basins; and the main course of the Solimões River; rainfall close to normal levels is expected in the remaining river basins.
