Legends

Current conditions

Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 2000 a 2023. Between March 19 and April 17, 2024, the rainfall pattern remains below the climatology in the west of the monitored area, with rainfall deficits on the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory, the watersheds of the Beni, Branco, Içá, Japurá, Javari, Juruá, Jutaí, Marañon rivers, the basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast and northwest of the state of Pará, Napo, Negro, Purus, Ucayali and the main course of the Solimões River. The last week has seen higher volumes of precipitation over the eastern Amazon, with positive precipitation anomalies characterizing the hydrographic basins of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Guaporé and Iriri rivers. The main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory, the basins of the Coari, Curuá Una, Ji-Paraná, Juruena, Madeira, Mamoré rivers, the basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas, Tapajós, Tefé, Teles Pires and Xingu, alternating areas with positive and negative anomalies, were considered to have observed rainfall close to the climatology for the period. The multi- seasonal forecast model indicates a reduction in the precipitation deficit in the monitored area, with an increase in rainfall in the coming weeks across the board.
