Current conditions

Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 2000 a 2024. Between July 15 to August 13, 2025, rainfall below climatological norms concentrated in the southeast of the monitored area characterized a precipitation deficit over the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory, the hydrographic basins of the Abacaxis, Aripuanã, Beni, Guaporé, Içá, Japurá, Javari, Ji-Paraná, Madeira, Mamoré, Napo, Negro, Purus, Teles Pires, and Ucayali; Above-average rainfall is forecast for the Coari, Curuá Una, and Jutaí river basins, the left bank of the Amazon River in northwestern Pará State, and Tefé; Rainfall close to normal on the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory, the Branco, Iriri, Juruá, Juruena, and Marañon river basins, the left bank basins of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas and in the northeast of the state of Pará, Tapajós, Xingu, and the main course of the Solimões River. The multimodel indicates above-normal rainfall for the coming weeks along the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory, the Aripuanã, Içá, Japurá, and Napo river basins; below-normal rainfall in isolated areas; and near-normal rainfall over almost the entire monitored region.
