Maps of observed precipitation conditions, individual graphics by basin are produced from MERGE/GPM data generated by INPE/CPTEC, considering the period from de 1998 a 2025. Between June 16 to July 15, 2026, rainfall above the climatological average was recorded in the watersheds of the Aripuanã, Coari, Curuá Una, Guaporé, Iriri, Juruena, Madeira, Tefé, Teles Pires, and Xingu rivers; rainfall below climatological norms resulted in a precipitation deficit along the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian and Peruvian territories, the watersheds of the Abacaxis, Beni, Branco, Içá, and Japurá rivers, the watersheds on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas, the northeast and northwest of the state of Pará, and the watersheds of the Napo, Negro, and Ucayali rivers; rainfall close to normal was recorded in the Javari, Ji-Paraná, Juruá, Jutaí, Mamoré, and Marañon, Purus, and Tapajós river basins, as well as along the main course of the Solimões River. The multi-model indicates, for the period from July 15 to July 21, 2026, positive precipitation anomalies are forecast for the main course of the Amazon River in Peruvian territory, the watersheds of the Aripuanã, Coari, Javari, Ji-Paraná, Juruá, Juruena, Jutaí, Madeira, Marañon, Napo, Purus, and Teles Pires rivers; negative precipitation anomalies are forecast to be concentrated north of the monitored area, along the main course of the Amazon River in Brazilian territory, the Branco and Curuá Una river basins, the basins on the left bank of the Amazon River in the northeast of the state of Amazonas, the northeast and northwest of the state of Pará, and the Negro River basin; and rainfall close to climatological norms is forecast for the remaining river basins.
